ALTAR SERVERS

Three groups of altar servers assist with the 8:00am, 10:00am and 12:00 noon Masses respectively, and take joint responsibility for special Masses. They help the priests with the Eucharistic celebrations and the smooth running of the liturgy. Candidates to be altar servers must have received First Holy Communion and undergo training and formation.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION (EMHC)

Members of this ministry assist the priest at Holy Communion. They may also help see to the procedures during special liturgical feasts and celebrations. Candidates for this ministry must be baptized and confirmed Catholics and eighteen years of age or above.

LECTORS

Readers proclaim the Word of God and organize the readings during Mass. They may also help see to the procedures during special liturgical feasts and celebrations. Readers must undergo training and formation, and adult readers should be confirmed.

MUSIC GROUPS

The choirs lead the faithful in singing and response and encourage full participation in the Eucharistic celebration. Choir members prepare the songs; manage the slides and projector operation during Mass. And those who attained training and formation also assist in reading during Mass, prayer services, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and in other church events and activities.

LEGION OF MARY

The Legion of Mary is a lay apostolic association of Catholics; its object is the glory of God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and active co-operation in Mary’s and Church’s work. At St. Vincent’s, Legion of Mary serve in a range of ways. Apart from their choir, they also assist at Mass and other services. They lead the Rosary prayer between Masses, serve as readers, ushering and organizing collections and they help out at church events, such as after 10am Mass coffee morning service and other celebrations.

They meet weekly for prayer and Bible study and engage actively in evangelization and charity work. There are two Legion of Mary Praesidia at St. Vincent’s:
